“Wikis” are essentially living document platforms where anyone can edit a definition. While the public typically considers them a reference, anyone can edit… it can change in between screen refreshes. So, you are not exactly sure what you are getting. Wikipedia, the most popular and biggest one, contains an institutional bias against chiropractors. According to Wikipedia, a chiropractor can’t edit “Chiropractic” because they are a chiropractor. A Medical Doctor can edit chiropractic, because they are not a chiropractor. Go figure. If someone does not like chiropractic, they can edit, but we can’t correct what they write.
For example, the Wiki”Pedia” text was recently changed (by a someone who had never gone to chiropractic college) to say that Chiropractors spend most of their time in school studying “marketing”. This is simply not true; as a matter of fact, I had NO MARKETING CLASSES AT ALL (sometimes I wish I had…just kidding) . If doctors study anything like that, we are taught not to make unfair or improper claims. But – you get the picture. “Wikipedia” for “Chiropractic” has been corrupted. It is not accurate. Instead, go here: http://en.wikichiro.org/index.php?title=Chiropractic – It’s unbiased.
