Chiropractic and Massage after a Car Accident?
January 28, 2015Car Accident? What to do?
March 4, 2015Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs) are one of those situations where people get accused of exaggerating their symptoms. There are groups that would like to say that all injuries that don’t involve broken bones are “Soft Tissue”, “Soft Tissue” injuries are minimal, and everybody should get better on their own, right? But what about the pain, the loss of work, the potential for future weakness? Maybe the answer is not so cut-and-dried. Oh, by the way, this same relationship exists for on-the-job injuries (Worker’s Comp – or for those of you who still insist on calling it “Workmen’s Comp”). They sometimes need evidence as well.
At Blue Heron Chiropractic, we use advanced diagnostics to put conclusive proof of your injury into your chart, and then begin working right away to get it “out of the picture”. If the situation calls for it, we will do a Dynamic Range of Motion EMG exam, or DynaROM, which is a fairly inexpensive test that delivers excellent results.
The DynaROM exam is AMA approved, and shows pain, muscle guarding and improper recruitment after an injury, or even in a chronic or “mostly recovered” situation. It’s not painful at all. We can do this for a new patient, or even on referral from your current doctor. Insurance companies and even attorneys appreciate detailed records like this.
And don’t worry, we will still do all the appropriate chiropractic, massage, and physiotherapy that you need to get better. Let us know when you call for an appointment.
